I would like to extend my warm wishes this Christmas to all the hard working staff in NHS Borders and in particular to all the nurses and midwives. Every day I have the pleasure of being reminded that the reputation of NHS Borders and our clinical profession is as good as it is because of the dedication of you in your day to day work.
There are many highlights throughout 2015 that I could share with you but in cheesy deference to the season, which I make no apologies, I am going to share only 12 and a partridge in a pear tree.
On my twelfth and final day of Christmas – Nursing style is, our Dementia Nurse Consultant Peter Lerpiniere.
Working in partnership with Alzheimer’s Scotland and the Scottish Government we were successful in appointing Peter Lerpiniere to the role of Alzheimer’s Dementia Nurse Consultant. A element of this post is to support colleagues within the Borders General Hospital and within community settings to further develop their skills, knowledge and abilities in meeting the needs of those who experience Dementia, ensuring that high standards of care are experienced wherever the care setting.
I hope my 12 days of Christmas – Nursing Style has given you an insight into some of the hard work we are doing here in the Borders.
I’m sure you can think of many achievements that I have not mentioned (I can) and I would be delighted if you can share them with me on Twitter @EvelynFleckDoNM or email me email@example.com. I feel proud to be part of such a great team and profession. I, once again would like to express my gratitude towards you all and wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
