Susan Manion has been appointed to the brand new post of Chief Officer – Health and Social Care Integration.

Susan, who has most recently held the post of General Manager for the Dunfermline and West Fife Community Health Partnership, will be responsible for leading and managing the wide range of services and strategic programmes required to implement Integration.

Drawing on a wealth of experience from a career in health and social care, Susan will take up the post in July.

There is a clear commitment from the leadership across the Council and NHS to deliver more joined up care and I look forward to working with people in the Borders to help make a difference" 

The Chief Officer post is accountable to the Chief Executives of NHS Borders, Calum Campbell and Scottish Borders Council (SBC), Tracey Logan.

Commenting on Susan’s appointment, Calum Campbell said; “Integration presents us with an excellent opportunity to develop a user-focussed and co-ordinated approach to service delivery, which puts the service user at the heart of everything we do. Susan has a proven track record in service transformation with a real focus on front line delivery, and will be a great asset to our organisations as we move forward with Integration”.

Adding her congratulations, Tracey Logan said; “Together we are committed to moving integration forward and to ensuring that those who use the services, as well as those who deliver them, are fully engaged in the development of the new service arrangements. Susan will undertake this responsibility with passion, drive and focus on the best possible outcomes for our service users, and I look forward to working with her as the programme moves forward.”
