NHS Borders would like to extend a big thank you to all those who participated in the public consultation on their Clinical Strategy.  The consultation invited patients, carers, staff, partner agencies and members of the public to feed back their thoughts and views on the Key Principles of the Clinical Strategy.  These Key Principles will allow NHS Borders to tackle future challenges and continue to provide excellent patient care over the next five years.

There was a clear message throughout the consultation that Partnership working must continue to be a priority for NHS Borders.  In light of this an additional key principle has been added to demonstrate our commitment to working in Partnership with staff, communities and other organisations to deliver the best outcomes for the people we serve.

Calum Campbell, NHS Borders Chief Executive said: “I would like to thank everyone who gave us their views during our consultation period.  Your feedback has been vital to help us finalise our key principles which will ensure care is person-centred, integrated and responsive whilst ensuring NHS Borders is an efficient and effective organisation and our performance remains amongst the best in Scotland. “

He added: “NHS Borders is now working with all services to identify if any changes are necessary in order to comply with the Key Principles.”

The report summarising the public consultation process, the events held, comments received and changes to the Key Principles is available at www.nhsborders.scot.nhs.uk
