NHS Borders, Scottish Borders Council, Borders College and local registered social landlords are working together to support local businesses and are holding a joint procurement event on Wednesday 4 November for suppliers and contractors.

The free drop-in event at Scottish Borders Campus, Galashiels will enable businesses to find out more about the procurement process, responding to tenders, work currently out to tender or upcoming, and the support available to them.

The event has been organised by the Community Planning Partnership and is open to all local suppliers and contractors.

Nile Istephan, Chief Executive of Eildon Housing and chairman of the Community Planning Partnership's Future Services Reform Group, said: "We recognise that there are a number of stages and routes to becoming a public sector supplier and preparing a tender bid can sometimes seem very daunting and can raise a number of questions.

"To help our local businesses we are inviting them to drop in to this joint procurement surgery where they can have a one-to-one chat with procurement specialists and also find out about work currently out to tender or which will be coming soon."

The informal event runs from 2pm to 4pm on Wednesday 4 November and tea and coffee will be provided. No registration is required.
