NHS Borders Annual Review 2016 - Values into Action

NHS Borders Annual Review for 2015/16 will take place between 2.30pm and 4pm on Tuesday September 6^th in the Tryst, Chaplaincy Centre, Borders General Hospital.

This year the theme is ‘Values Into Action’ and throughout the session the importance of placing our values at the centre of everything we do will be highlighted.

Chairman of NHS Borders, John Raine will open the Annual Review by summarising the performance and achievements of the health board in 2015/16, and also deliver an update on the action points noted by Scottish Government from last year’s review.

John will also spend a few minutes reflecting on how things used to be when the Borders General Hospital first opened in 1988.

There will follow three brief presentations from NHS Borders recently appointed Medical Director, Mr Andrew Murray; Director of Nursing, Midwifery and Acute Services Evelyn Rodger and Joint Director of Public Health Dr Tim Patterson.

Andrew, Evelyn and Tim will each describe how the organisational values are threaded through future key initiatives for the Board.

These presentations will lead into an open question and answer session, conducted by the Chairman, and we would like to take this opportunity to ask members of the public to come prepared with questions and comments about NHS Borders. This really is a great chance to engage with members of the Board and other senior staff.

Encouraging people to attend the Annual Review John Raine said: “At last years annual review we started a conversation with you; our patients, carers, staff and local communities, about ‘what matters to you’, so that we can place your needs and views at the heart of the design and delivery of local health services.

“At this years event you will hear about how we will work together to deliver initiatives that meet your needs, with our values at the centre of safe, effective patient care.
