The search is nearly over to find Scotland’s best healthcare workers as you only have until 1st September to nominate your favorites.

Every year, the Scottish Health Awards recognise and reward dedicated NHS staff, support workers, volunteers and specialist teams who go the extra mile to provide outstanding patient care.

Whether in hospital, in the community, in a GP surgery, or at the dentist, this is an opportunity to reward the people who give so much, helping the NHS provide world-class care to the people of Scotland.

There are 16 categories this year and, for the first time, included among them are Scotland’s best Midwife and Scotland’s best Young Achiever.

Chairman of NHS Borders, John Raine said: “The Scottish Health Awards is a fantastic opportunity to recognise and celebrate the contribution of frontline health and social care workers, as well as highlighting those in support service roles, whose valuable work may not always be as visible.

“Last year there were three deserving finalists representing NHS Borders, and we were delighted when Melburn Lodge was the recipient of Scotland’s Top Team and Scotland’s best care for Mental Health, and, Dr Fiona Hawke was awarded Scotland’s finest Therapist.

“I am really looking forward to seeing who you nominate this year and finding out in due course what they did to make a difference to you or your family.”
