Adjusting to Civvy Street can be challenging and confusing. Veterans F1rst Point, Borders is a new service that offers confidential support to Veterans, whatever their needs may be. To celebrate the launch of this new service Veterans F1rst Point, Borders are hosting a launch event at the Buccleuch Arms Hotel in St Boswells on Friday 24th June from 09:30am to 12 noon. If you are a veteran or are associated with a veteran please come along and chat to the team, meet other veterans and listen to our veteran guest speakers who will share their experiences.
The Veterans F1rst Point Team comprises of both healthcare professionals and people with military experience and offers confidential support to veterans. The team is available to help with health and well-being issues or if you just want to chat to someone they are there to listen. The service also provides a ‘one stop shop’ of information about welfare, employment and housing.
Deirdre Buckley, Clinical Psychologist at NHS Borders said: “Veterans F1irst Point is an exciting new initiative that is already being well received throughout the Borders. If you are a veteran and are interested in finding out more or you just want to chat please come along to our launch event.”
