Where are we:
Audiology is based at the Borders General Hospital within the Outpatient A.
Our reception area is located to the right as you walk into the Outpatient A seating area. The department is appointment based however you are able to discuss making an appointment or any queries with our friendly administration staff. When arriving for an appointment patients should approach the Audiology reception to register thus allowing the department to be aware they have arrived.
About our services:
Audiology provides diagnostic assessments of hearing for both the Adult and Paediatric population and where indicated undertakes rehabilitative treatments. We also provide diagnostic assessment cover to the Ear, Nose and Throat department (ENT).
We accept referrals from Health Professionals for all ages if there is a concern about hearing impairment being present.
Adults are assessed within our new purpose built clinical area and advised of their options available based on the results found. Any treatment required from our own team is then outlined and performed within the BGH.
Paediatric patients are assessed within the new purpose built clinical area and information is then given to parents regarding what the next stage of treatment may be, should this be required.
