A further case of Covid-19 has been identified in Hawick through NHS Borders Test and Protect team, bringing the total associated with the outbreak in Hawick to 23.

The mobile Testing Unit (MTU) will be in Hawick Teviotdale Leisure Centre car park at the following times:

Friday - Saturday (11-12 September)             10am – 5pm
Sunday – Wednesday (13 – 16 September)    3pm – 5pm 

Mobile testing will also be available in Galashiels at the Netherdale car park at the following times:

Friday - Saturday (11-12 September)             10am – 5pm
Sunday – Wednesday (13 – 16 September)    10am – 1pm

As the MTU can only take a limited number of people each day it remains essential that only people with COVID-19 symptoms book a test. Tests must be booked in advance. You can arrange your test by visiting www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test or calling 0800 028 2816. Whilst you wait for your test all of your household members should self-isolate. 

It is essential that everyone follows the Scottish Government guidance and public health advice available at NHS Inform. 

Remember the FACTS that will help all of us to stay safe and protect each other as well:

  • Face coverings in enclosed spaces
  • Avoid crowded places
  • Clean hands and surfaces regularly
  • Two metre distancing; and
  • Self-isolate and book a test if you have symptoms.
