We are delighted to announce that we have three finalists in this year’s Scotland’s Health Awards.
We would like to congratulate our colleagues who have been nominated in the following categories:
- Care for Mental Health Award – Neil Jackson, Psychiatric Liaison Nurse
- Pharmacist Award – Alex Mundell, Clinical Pharmacist for Critical Care
- Support Worker Award – Vikki Gray, Healthcare Support Worker
Scotland’s Health Awards celebrate the extraordinary achievements of individuals and teams who go above and beyond to deliver compassionate, high-quality health and social care in Scotland.
After standing out among talented colleagues from across Scotland, our finalists have earned their place at next month’s prestigious awards ceremony in Edinburgh.
Neil Jackson, Psychiatric Liaison Nurse said: “It came as a great surprise when my colleagues informed me that not only had they nominated me but I was actually a finalist for Scotland’s Health Awards. It was quite humbling to feel they had gone to the effort to make the nomination, as I truly do not feel that I do anything different from the people I work alongside in the Psychiatric Liaison Service.
“I feel very fortunate to work alongside my colleagues with whom I share a person-centred approach to care and who all put in constant dedication, compassion and care for those they seek to support. All I have to do is achieve the same level as my colleagues.”
Alex Mundell, Clinical Pharmacist for Critical Care said: “I am extremely flattered to have been nominated for the inaugural Pharmacist Award at Scotland’s Health Awards. I work with a fantastic group in the Intensive Care Unit and to be appreciated in this way is so rewarding.”
Vikki Gray, Healthcare Support Worker said: “It is an honour to be nominated for this award – in fact, I am still in disbelief! We all come in and do our jobs to the best of our ability so to be acknowledged for this is a real morale boost.
“I have an amazing team of colleagues within Cancer Services and feel privileged to have been able to provide support to some remarkable people over the last 14 years. I continue to feel in awe of the strength and resilience people display in some very difficult times.”
Karen Hamilton, NHS Borders Chair said: “I am absolutely delighted to see our colleagues named as finalists in this year’s Scotland’s Health Awards. Being shortlisted for such respected awards is a true reflection of the dedication, care and compassion our staff bring to their work every single day.
“I want to extend my thanks to all our teams for their continued commitment and offer my warmest congratulations to our finalists, we’re all incredibly proud of you. Wishing you all the very best of luck for the awards.”
