We are pleased to announce that Lynn Barker will start as our new Director of Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals on 5 October 2026. 
Lynn joins us from Fife Health and Social Care Partnership, where she has served as Director of Nursing since 2019.
Her career has spanned a broad range of services, and she brings a wealth of experience across health and social care. She has extensive expertise in clinical and care governance, patient safety, workforce development, quality improvement and service transformation.
Commenting on her appointment, Lynn said: "I am thrilled to be joining NHS Borders. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to work alongside colleagues, partners and communities across the region.
“Throughout my career, I have been passionate about supporting staff to deliver the highest standards of safe, effective and person-centred care. I look forward to listening, learning and understanding what matters most to staff, patients and communities."
