Art therapy is currently provided for those accessing support from the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).

We support children and young people who may find it difficult discuss their own emotions and feelings, where it may be difficult to express through words.

Art therapy can help with feeling more at ease, managing strong emotions, connect and communicate with others, make sense of thoughts and feelings, think about yourself and how you relate to others and enjoy being creative.

We provide a safe, private and confidential space to explore emotions and feelings in a non-judgmental way and encourage you to be curious in wanting to learn more about yourself and your relationship with others. Through this exploration, we can then understand how to interact with other people better in a safe and calming environment.

Art therapy sessions will be tailored to your needs, using the following approaches:

Psychodynamic Approach

Using art to let the emergence of the unconscious through a non-directed approach, where the individual takes the lead.

Psychoeducation Approach

A more collaborative approach, where I will share my knowledge to help you have a better understanding in past trauma, help address illnesses or mental health conditions.

Mentalization Approach

How we see our own emotions, thoughts and feelings in conjunction with emotions, thoughts and feelings of others. Working towards on improving communication, interactions and relationships with others.
