What are Activities of Daily Living?

Activities of Daily Living are basic tasks essential for self-care and daily functioning. These activities encompass skills essential for promoting independence and confidence in children. Activities may include:

Dressing: Putting on and taking off clothes, including managing fasteners, buttons etc.

Bathing/Washing: Learning to wash themselves with supervision as needed.

Personal Hygiene: Brushing teeth, combing hair, and washing hands.

Eating: Feeding themselves and using utensils appropriately.

Toileting: Using the bathroom independently and practicing hygiene afterwards.

Mobility: Moving around safely, including climbing stairs and running.

Sleep: Habits and practices that promote a restful sleep and consistent sleep schedule.
