Using NHS Near Me

GP Practices – alternative to visiting your local GP Practice

Should you become unwell, as an alternative to visiting your local GP Practice, it may be appropriate to simply hold the appointment over the telephone.

In order to reduce the potential spread of infection, all GP Practices in Borders now also have a virtual clinic option, where patients may be able to be seen by their local GP Practice on a simple video link. NHS Near Me is a new video consulting service which provides virtual consultations enabling you to attend your appointment by video link.

As with any other appointment, you must first contact your local GP Practice who will arrange for an appointment to be booked in the normal manner. This may be telephone, virtual or face to face.

In order to establish which option is most appropriate, simply phone your local Practice and they will book the most appropriate appointment for you.

Attending your Appointment by Video Link

Before your virtual appointment can take place, your appointment should have already been booked. If not, you will need to phone  your local GP Practice to make an appointment.

To attend your virtual appointment click on the relevant GP Practice button below when it is time for your appointment to take place and you will enter your local virtual waiting room.

On entering the waiting room, your local GP will know you are waiting and will be with you shortly. If the surgery is running late, a message will be sent to you to keep you updated of any delays.
