Boy Balancing

A good way to work on your child’s balance is to take them to a playpark and let them play as a lot of the play equipment will help develop balance skills. Here are some activities to practice balance with your child:

Balance on One Leg:
Ask your child to balance on one leg. Once they’ve mastered this ask them to hop up and down on one leg.

Hopscotch:
Encourage your child to draw the pattern on the ground aoutside with chalk, before playing the game.  This can be started intially by using two feet on one square and then progressing to one foot on one square.

Heel-Toe:
Ask your child to walk heel-toe along the ground. This can be progressed to getting your child to walk heel-toe along a rope. Try asking them to walk backwards heel-toe. They can also try picking up objects while walking heel-toe along a rope.
