Who we are
We are a small, dedicated team of psychologists working across the Scottish Borders to support the mental wellbeing of older adults.
Our team includes:
- Clinical Psychologists
- Trainee Clinical Psychologists
- Assistant Psychologists
Later life can bring emotional and physical challenges. We work closely with other health and care professionals to provide joined-up, compassionate care.
What we do
We provide psychological support in a range of settings, including GP surgeries, outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, and care homes. Some of the services we provide include:
- Psychological Therapy
Helping you understand what’s affecting your mental health and exploring ways to feel better. - Neuropsychological Assessment
Assessing changes in memory or thinking to understand possible causes. - Support in care settings
Working with care homes and community hospitals to support residents experiencing distress.
Where will I be seen?
We offer:
- Video appointments by NHS Near me
- Face to face appointments at a health centre or hospital
- Home visits if you are in a care home or there are issues with travel
Who can access the service?
Most people referred to us will have already been seen by their local Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) where psychological therapy or neuropsychological assessment are indicated. Some individuals will work directly with a psychologist, while others with more complex needs may also receive support from other members of the CMHT alongside a psychologist.
