What is the Health Promoting Health Service programme
The Health Promoting Health Service Programme (HPHS) focuses on the health and wellbeing of staff, patients and visitors in hospital settings. It has an underpinning theme that “every healthcare contact is a health improvement opportunity.”
It aims to support the development of a health promoting culture and embed effective health improvement practice within NHS Scotland.
The programme focuses on seven topics; smoking; physical activity; food and health; alcohol; breastfeeding; sexual health; and Healthy Working Lives.
For further information, see the briefing leaflet produced by Health Scotland.
What is NHS Borders doing to support the programme
