Making an appointment:

To make an appointment, please phone between 8:00am and 6:00pm Monday - Friday.

We use EMIS Access which enables you to book an appointment online (with a GP only - not Practice Nurses).  This system also allows you to re-order your repeat prescription online.  If you are interested in registering for this service please collect a registration form from the surgery.

Out of hours: NHS 24 on 111
When the surgery is closed (see 'Surgery hours' above) you should telephone the NHS 24 helpline on 111 who will give appropriate advice or will refer you to Borders Emergency Care Service (BECS), the out of hours service operated by NHS Borders.

Home visits:

Home visits are for housebound patients, or patients who are too ill to come to the surgery.   Requests for home visits should preferably be made before 10.00am so that the doctors can plan their working day.   Please tell our receptionists why you need a home visit and an indication of the urgency as this will help the doctor on duty to prioritise home visits/calls.   The doctor on duty may call you back to discuss your problem or give appropriate advice.

Repeat prescriptions:

Please note we do not accept prescription requests by telephone.

Repeat prescriptions can be ordered using our online service, EMIS Access which enables you to order your repeat prescriptions online (this service can also be used to book appointments with the GP).  If you are interested in registering for this service please collect a registration form from reception.  Prescriptions can also be ordered by email to braeside.info@borders.scot.nhs.uk, by posting or handing in a reorder form to reception or by liaising with your Pharmacy.

Please don’t leave ordering your repeat prescription until the last minute.

Please read the right hand side of the prescription as it may contain important messages, including requests that you attend the surgery for review before further repeat prescriptions are issued.

Suggestions/Complaints:

We welcome suggestions or comments about how we can improve the service we provide.   If you dissatisfied with any aspect of the care or service you receive, please discuss this with the doctor or nurse you are seeing, or if you prefer with the Practice Manager.
