South East Scotland (SES): Virtual Induction Passport (VIP)

 

The ‘Virtual Induction Passport’ is an e-Learning platform hosted by learnPro NHS on behalf of Medical Education Directorates in NHS Borders, NHS Fife and NHS Lothian. It is designed to meet Induction requirements for medical staff working across South East  Scotland.

Since August 2015, all doctors in training and new substantive medical staff starting in South East Scotland have been asked to complete the VIP.

How to access the VIP for the first time:

  • Go to http://doctors.learnprouk.com
  • Click the link in the green box
  • Follow the prompts for the dropdown menus to set your pathway and click the login button
  • If you already have a learnPro account, log in with your existing login details If you have never used learnPro, create an account. Use your GMC number for your learnPro ID. Please email elearning.helpdesk@borders.scot.nhs.uk or call 01896 827887 if you have any difficulties.

When you change posts:

To update your learnPro profile, e.g. when you change posts, follow the steps above for accessing the VIP for the first time, then log in with your existing login details. Please do this as soon as possible after arrival in NHS Borders to ensure that you are placed on the correct mandatory VIP pathway for the duration of this post.

As well as the VIP, you are required to complete additional eLearning by NHS Borders including TrakCare. This can be found in the Additional Courses section within the VIP. Some of this eLearning MUST be completed within the first 48 hours.
