An online guide entitled 'People with Learning Disabilities and the Scottish Criminal Justice System' has been published on the Scottish Government website. The guide deals with why people with learning disabilities may experience difficulties in accessing formal procedures and how people at all levels in the criminal justice system can reduce these difficulties by following a number of good practice tips.
Seven 'easy read' guides for people with learning difficulties and their families and carers on specific aspects covered in the full guide have also been published on the Scottish Government website.
