The Scottish Borders Alcohol and Drugs Partnership (ADP) is seeking views on its draft Strategy for 2015-2020.

The ADP is tasked with delivering a reduction in the level of drug and alcohol problems amongst young people and adults in the Borders and reducing the harmful impact on families and communities. The partnership is committed to working with the Scottish Government, colleagues, people in recovery and local communities to tackle the problems arising from substance misuse.

The draft Strategy sets out the ADP's aims for the next five years and sets out the following four high level strategic actions:

  • Reducing prevalence of alcohol and drug use by 5 percent by 2020 through prevention and early intervention
  • Reducing alcohol and drugs related harm to children and young people
  • Improving recovery outcomes for service users and reducing drug related deaths to four or less per year by 2020
  • Strengthening partnerships and governance structures

The Strategy was developed in partnership with colleagues and service users but the ADP are now keen to have feedback from anyone with an interest in these issues. To download a copy of the strategic plan and/or to submit your views, please visit the ADP website: http://www.badp.scot.nhs.uk

Paper copies of the strategy and feedback form are available from Fiona Doig, ADP Strategic Co-ordinator on 01835 825900. She can also provide more information and help with any queries about the strategy or survey.

Responses should be submitted by 4 May 2015.
