Landscape

Our vision is that people of all ages living in the Scottish Borders have access to high quality, evidence-based psychological therapies that make use of accessible arts-based approaches.  We strive to embody the values of person-centredness in all aspects of our work, to challenge social inequalities and to promote flourishing for all persons, irrespective of circumstances.  We are passionate about raising awareness of the role that the arts and arts therapies can play in promoting mental health and well-being across the lifespan.

The arts therapies service aspires to offer support and intervention that:

  • is person-centred, timely and sustainable;
  • promotes health and reduces distress;
  • helps people build resilience and appropriate skills;
  • encourages the on-going use of the arts to promote health and well-being.
