What to do about sexually active 13, 14, and 15 year-olds

Sexual activity during the teenage years is part of the normal spectrum of adolescent development.

Young people in the early teenage years who are sexually active will usually be so by choice. However, a significant minority may be sexually abused. It is important that young people aged 13, 14, and 15 who are involved in consensual relationships and those who are being abused are dealt with appropriately in a way that minimises harm.

This web resource aims to support professionals in Health, Education, Youth Work and Social Work settings to tell the difference between an abusive and a consensual relationship and to respond appropriately to each.
