Get Moving with Counterweight is a free one-year healthy lifestyle programme which supports you to eat well, get active and manage your weight for life. You are eligible to be considered for this programme, if you have a Body Mass Index (BMI) greater than 25kg/m2 (>23kg/m2 for adults who are from a Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic background).

The programme is delivered face to face and includes:

  • 12 weeks of 90 minute sessions which include:
    • 45 minutes of healthy eating, active living and behaviour change advice
    • 45 minutes of activity with support from an exercise specialist

  • Follow up sessions at 6, 9 and 12 months

The aim is to support you to lose 5-10% of your body weight and maintain this.

This programme is delivered by Live Borders Health Coaches who work in partnership with our service.
